Family “farm stays” allow families to experience life “on the farm” together one day at a time.

The recognition of Agro-tourism within the broader definition of PA agriculture has encouraged farms to open their doors to the public. In a effort to bridge the gap between the urban and suburban community and farming community, the state of Pennsylvania has provided a way for farmers to share their culture on a more personal level. This year is the tenth year Flint Hill Farm Ag is offering overnight farm stays for 1 to 4 individuals in each of  the farm house bedrooms.  Total of 10 people can be accommodated. Since this is an old farm house, we presently offer three cozy bedrooms and a common guest bathroom. Different options are available

Children under 3yrs old stay free, if bunked in the same room. Additional bed accommodations can be added if needed for children/additional family members : One cot  or Portacrib in Equine bedroom. Two cots and Portacrib in Loom room, one cot in Master Bed room option.

Towels and soap are provided. Some personal items (shampoo, etc.) are also provided.  If you have specialties, please bring your own.

*Allergy Notice: Please note that there a numerous cats and other livestock living in the barns.  In the morning, the dogs come in into the kitchen area and sun room for breakfast. Their job is to help protect the cows and goats, chickens and ducks, etc. . Most of the days they are outside.  None of the dogs or cats sleep in the house

Anyone who experiences seasonal or animal allergies are encouraged to pack their appropriate medication for their time with us on the farm.  Our cancellation policy is 48 hr.  Sorry, but we do not have a refund policy for allergy related cancellations after arrival.

Do’s and Don’ts of Farm Life:

  • Do plan to come and have a great time!
  • Do dress for the weather and plan for changes in seasonal weather: boots, rain gear, work gloves, clothes that can get dirty, good socks, hats or caps and sun screen. Layers work well as the temperature can change during the day or evening. Feel free to call with questions: 610-838-2928.
  • Do communicate dietary requirements, special medical or physical needs, allergies (bee stings, food allergies etc.)
  • Don’t plan to stay up late if you are working with us in the AM. The farm house is also home to the family owning the farm. You are guests to our home. There is a TV available and access to router for internet. Since we are a working farm and residing in the farmhouse together, all music, TV and activity that would affect others’ sleep are off between 11PM – 6AM.
  • Don’t smoke except in safe smoking areas. No smoking allowed in and around the farmhouse, outbuildings or barns. Fire is always a concern.
  • Don’t bring liquor, wine or beer onto the farm premises. We are not covered for guests with alcohol. There are many wonderful dining and social places in the Bethlehem, Allentown area.
  • Do let us know if you will want to use the kitchen for lunch or dinner preparation. The Farm Stay only allows us to provide one meal. Our guests are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare their meals with the understanding that they will clean up, arrange with us lunch/dinner options in advance for our Marshmallow and Weenie Roast  at the Fire Pit or Picnic Basket.  We provide a full list of “take out” and exceptional dining for each guest or family.
  • Do bring your camera! You will create many special memories and want to preserve them for your friends and family.
  • Do fill out the farm information package sent upon registration. That will allow us to customize your visit and assist you in experiencing all the opportunities the farm can offer.
  • Do visit our Farm Store and take home our exceptional dariy products for family and friends
  • Do share your GREAT farm experience with others!

The House*   house_kitchen
The original part of the house and bank barn are beautifully constructed of hand hewn beams. Rocking chairs on the wrap-around porch off the front of the farm house offers a restful place for breakfast or relaxing from spring to fall.  Breakfast with eggs, milk and cheese and muffins from the farm is offered between 8 and 10 AM Saturday and Sunday. Seasonal fruits and herbs added as available.

The Farm
The farm dates back to about 1850. The working farm offers 6 acres of wooded paths, pastures for our sheep, goats, and cows and assorted gardens planted with herbs, flowers and vegetables. A Certified Raw milk dairy provides goat and cow milk for the Flint Hill Farm Educational Center’s sale of both pasteurize and raw milk and pasteurized added-value products of artisan cheese, fresh butter and yogurt. During certain seasons, the Draft horse teams of the Educational Center provide “horse power” to the everyday work of the farm. The farm is a dynamic environment moving in harmony with the changing seasons.

The Mobile Home- SUMMER SEASON ONLY- limited availability NOT AVAILABLE TILL MID AUGUST 2024
Our Newest 2008 SuperSport Mobile Home is nestled in next to our 6 acres of woods.   It is a newer 28 foot tagalong trailer with queen-size bed, and option of two other twin beds in the living room area. The family that desires “camping” in a more “gentile way” will enjoy its benefits.  The dining table can also be converted into a child size bed at night if another bed is needed.  It does offer a “cozy” shower and toilet.  However, the water is electric heated so it is a quick one!  Breakfast is served at the main farm house; however, the camper affords families on a budget to cook their own meals or dine out as desired.  A full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, gas stove and oven allow for private meals either in the camper or at the picnic area.  There is also a gas grill for outside cooking situated in the picnic area.

The camper is available for day or weekly rate.  Please call for weekly rates since it changes with the season.

ROUGHING IT AT FLINT HILL-New this year is rental of AFRAME or BUNKHOUSE in our woods for camping experience.  Accommodates 2 adults .  mattress with double sleeping bag,  small fire pit for cooking weather permitting, tent electric lantern.  Toilet facilities – out house. Bring your own pillows!  Since we don’t want to disturb the neighbors or animals in our woods no loud boom boxes.  Quiet encouraged after 8:30PM
